About
Looking for a copywriter that just ‘gets it’? Let me introduce myself.
Sarina Singh – Copywriter and content creator
I’m the founder and chief word whisperer at Mother Tongue Copy + Content. I’m here to help you find your voice and connect with your audience in a language they will understand.
Usually I’m a one man band happily crafting copy, but every now and then I work with some other clever people (like film crews or designers) to pull together bigger projects like videos and websites. Luckily I have a background in that kind of stuff. And I can’t help myself – I do what it takes to get a job done.
“I know nothing in the world that has as much power as a word. Sometimes I write one, and I look at it, until it begins to shine.”
Emily Dickinson
a bit of background
From communications all-rounder to copywriting specialist
I’ve always loved a challenge. That’s why I’m a communications all-rounder – I’ve always been willing to give anything a go.
I’ve worked as a content writer, advertising creative producer, digital project manager, corporate video producer, marketing and events manager, and in senior communications roles for the Queensland Government. I even dabbled in the world of television, producing lifestyle shows for Channel 7.
But at the heart of each role was one thing – words. Crafting words that promote, induce, instruct, motivate, educate and entertain. I’ve written websites, blog content, advertising copy, newsletters, press releases, speeches, television commercials, social media posts, corporate videos and more.
So while copywriting is what I felt I was always meant to do, I just had a few other itches to scratch fist. And I’m glad I did. I got to flex my writing muscles crafting a wide variety of content in diverse settings. It helped me develop a sharp eye for an angle and understand how good writing isn’t just for show, it’s about communicating a message. And I learnt to quickly adapt my work to the style and tone required for any audience.
It also helped me hone all of those other skills that a really good copywriter needs. I know how to get a brief right, work effectively with production teams, consult with stakeholders, scope and manage multiple projects at once, work to a deadline and deliver on time, on budget and on message.
And because I’ve worked on both sides of the communications game – agency and supplier – I have a natural 360° view of any project. I intuitively see the big picture, spot an issue before it happens, troubleshoot on the fly and remain focused on one thing – a successful outcome.

A head for strategy, a heart for creativity and an eye for a good story.
